What is Soft Washing? Why Choose Us 2

Seminole Power Wash uses a technique called “soft washing” to professionally clean most building exteriors, particularly residential siding (stucco, hardy board, vinyl, cedar, even brick and pre-cast concrete). Less than 100 PSI is used to soft wash a building. Very little pressure is used, and the surface is actually cleaned by the detergents applied, and then rinsed using clean water and a standard water hose. By using lower pressure and detergents to soft wash the building, there is much less chance of harming the surface being cleaned, and the results are guaranteed to last much longer than pressure washing.

How does Soft Washing work?

Seminole Power Wash first pre-wets any plants and surfaces not being cleaned, then we apply our detergent solution to the siding from the bottom up. The solution includes sodium hypochlorite and detergent to allow it to cling to the surface more effectively. The solution is allowed to dwell on the surface until all the algae is killed. Any spots still left are hit with a second application of solution.

Once all the algae is gone, the cleaning professional rinses from the top down and washes all traces of algae and debris from the siding. Then the siding is thoroughly rinsed to remove all detergent from the surface, and all plants and other surfaces are throughly rinsed with clean water.

How do you reach the top?

Higher parts of siding are reached using a special tip that can shoot a low pressure stream up to 40 feet. On very high parts an extension to is sometimes used, but most of the washing can be safely from the ground without using ladders.

How good is it?

Houses can be soft washed faster and more effectively than using the “pressure washing” technique, and the results are instant and dramatic!

Soft washing is also better for houses, since pressure washing can actually damage a house’s siding. Pressure washing should typically be reserved for things like decks, sidewalks, driveways, etc.
